The purpose of the Employee's Spouse and Dependent Scholarship Program is to support and encourage the education of dependents and spouses of eligible employees of Virginia Tech. The fund also assists in enriching the university climate by recognizing the value of its employees and nurturing their retention. Lastly, the fund establishes a Virginia Tech Foundation account with tax-deductible contributions to provide need-based and non-need-based scholarships for eligible spouses and dependents.

Funds to support this scholarship are donated by Virginia Tech employees through the Office of University Development. If you would like to make a contribution to this scholarship fund, contact the office at http://www.givingto.vt.edu.

Your Support

Giving to Virginia Tech through the Staff and Faculty Annual Fund can be as simple as having a few dollars taken out of your paycheck every month to support a college or department. Or you can make a gift to a scholarship fund to assist the families of Virginia Tech employees. Your gift could make the difference that enables a colleague's child to attend Virginia Tech.

•  The Employees' Spouse and Dependent Scholarship Fund —contributions to this fund go directly toward paying for current scholarships. Since 2000 we have awarded scholarship support to 44 spouses and dependents of Virginia Tech employees. Your gift helps increase the number of scholarships awarded as well as the amount of each scholarship.

•  The Presidential Dependent Scholarship Endowment —contributions to this fund are invested in an endowed account; interest earned from the endowment pays for new employee spouse and dependent scholarships each year. The endowment ensures that there will always be funding for the scholarships. In this way, your gift can last for years and years.
